Visiting with Aunt Betty and Chelsea in Dallas 2025
We had such a nice trip to Dallas to see Aunt Betty and Chelsea. We flew in to Dallas Saturday early and spent the day with Aunt Betty touring the art district. We started at the Nasher which had a traveling sculpture exhibit from the Korean artist, Haegue Yang. It was very interesting. We saw sculptures made from rocks and bells and paper and string. It was great, but to be honest, I don't think I understood everything the artist was communicating through her work. There was also a sizable permanent collection in the galleries and gardens which were equally intriguing. I found it interesting that more often than not the museum curators notes on each piece stated what the sculpture may mean and not what it does mean. I assumed that artists would generally make it clear to the world what each sculpture is communicating. Also it was a free Saturday with donut holes; nice.
