What a year it has been! We celebrated a big milestone—marrying off our first child, Abigail. She and Austin live nearby, which means she still pops in to “borrow” food, batteries, and Kombucha. We love Austin and are so happy for them. Abigail is halfway through her second year teaching mischievous but wonderful 3rd graders.

Lydia had knee surgery in the spring to reconfigure some parts, but bounced back quickly. By summer, she was off to Alaska for the internship of a lifetime, studying how climate change is affecting Arctic shipping routes. She and Tom also squeezed in day hikes in West Virginia and an unforgettable whitewater kayaking adventure. Lydia graduates from the Coast Guard Academy this spring and will likely head to San Francisco to serve on a large cutter. For now, she’s thriving as the Morale Division Officer, keeping her company’s spirits high.

Chelsea, our “baby” at 21, spent her summer assignment in Washington State. Highlights included flying over Glacier National Park in a cargo plane with the tailgate down. Not one to stop there, she jumped out of an airplane five times this fall and earned her jump wings! She is currently serving as the Athletics Officer at the academy.

Lynne continues to dominate pickleball as both a player and trainer, while also learning the ropes of selling our products on Amazon. Together, Lynne and Tom enjoyed season tickets to the Washington Spirit women’s soccer team for the first time. We also took a “work-cation” to Puerto Rico and made wonderful visits to Lydia and Chelsea’s schools for parent weekends, complete with ice skating on Uncle Trevor’s lake. Tom is still working hard in our businesses and for fun he constructed a dunk tank, a Murphy bed, and a new Christmas Village.

In the fall, we hosted our third annual cider pressing, producing about 75 gallons from 25 bushels of apples. Summer brought a special family trip to Sandy Cove—our last for a couple of years as we look ahead to two college graduations in the near future.

We wish you a wonderful Christmas and a joyful New Year. May God bless you richly in the season ahead.

With love, Tom, Lynne, Abigail & Austin, Lydia, and Chelsea
