Abigail's Graduation from Messiah University
It was Abigail’s graduation from college this weekend. It was a beautiful time with our entire family. It turned out that Lydia’s finals ended early in the week and she came home so she could surprise Abigail. Thursday night the four of us plus grandpa and grandma went to Abigail’s college grad ceremony. Lydia yelled a couple times but Abigail did not recognize her voice. When Abigail came down from the stage she saw Lydia. We had a great little reunion over cookies and rice crispy crunches.
Friday evening was the baccalaureate service. We only had two tickets per family which fell to Lynne and me. We were able to sit with Mike and Brenda, Nick and Karen, Makayla and Lauren’s parents. It was a great service with reflections, worship, scripture, and an intentional focus on diversity. Then there were some very amazing desserts waiting for us.
Lydia and Chelsea spent time with Matt’s kids at the go cart track.
Saturday morning was the big event, the university commencement. The weather was amazing and it was held outside in the stadium. The sun shining down was like a shower of blessing. Grandma and grandpa, meme and our little family were all in the grass watching and listening as Abigail walked across the stage. Of course there were many pictures after.
We retired to memes house for lunch and corn hole and spike ball. Uncle Matt and the family meet us there so we could eat and play together. We enjoyed Matt’s cold brew coffee of course.
