A Noisy House Again!

We are those parents now... living for the times when family can be together. And this last week was a beaut'. Chelsea had 96 hours, no more, after finals. Lydia had a couple more days than that. Lynne's parents came up, and my Mom came down. Plus it was Grandpa's 84th birthday. The week would be full of energy, fun, and quirkiness, all the things that make time with the Boyer family great.

Lydia showed up first on Friday, and Saturday morning we went strawberry picking in the mud to make some jam. The berries were not great so that we had to cut off the bad parts as we were picking. But in the end we had enough berries. We made low sugar jam using half sugar and half monk sugar.

Meme showed up on Tuesday just in time for a game of Qwirkle, and Lynne's parents showed up on Wednesday. That evening we headed directly for Chic Fila for armed forces night for loads of free chicken sandwiches. Thanks CFA!

Chelsea showed up Thursday in time for she and Lydia to head to Mission BBQ for their armed forces celebration. Thanks Mission BBQ!

Friday lunch was putt putt at Night Hawk, where Grandma was able use her free pass she won last time. Fortunately, we were the only ones and were able to have a leisurely, fun time together. Lynne, made a hole in one on hole 19 and won a free pass for next time! Then Meme headed back to Pennsylvania to be with the other Boyers.

Saturday we visited the Kozy Bean for coffee and chit chat.

And, Saturday afternoon was Birthday Dinner for Grandpa. We made pork loin and lots of vegetables and Chelsea made carrot cake for dessert. Lydia and Chelsea gave Grandpa a Dunkin' Card and a baseball cap that said Crofton. Grandpa's card from Tom and Lynne would "arrive" a day late, of course. After dinner, Lydia picked up a fellow cadet at the train station and headed to Philadelphia to pick up two other cadets the next morning from the airport.

Sunday Grandma, Grandpa, Chelsea and Tom went to church. After dinner, Tom and Grandma took Chelsea to the airport.

Monday night was a delicious Italian dinner from Grandma and Grandpa. Finally Grandma and Grandpa left for home on Tuesday, and Tuesday dinner was very quiet after a week of trading time for memories.
